Youth basketball

The 7th-grade Granite State Rockettes AAU girls’ basketball team (pictured) won the Zero Gravity NH State Championship this weekend in Hampton. The Rockettes will represent New Hampshire in the National Finals next month.

The Bow 5 girls’ basketball team wrapped up its season with a fourth-place finish at the state championships. Bow 5 (30-24-1) split games with the NH Gym Rats, Rim Spartans 5, Granite State Rockettes and NE Playmakerz. Offensively, Bow was paced by Isabella LaPerle (combined 26 points), Lyndsey LaPerle (20 points), Alexandra Larrabee (12 points) and Meghan Wray (eight points). The LaPerle twins led the team in steals, while Larrabee led the team in rebounds. Amelia Clark hustled at both ends of the court.

JV results

The Hopkinton JV softball team defeated Newport, 14-10. Megan Blanchette got the win with seven strikeouts, five hits and two walks. Katie Meserve played well behind the plate. Izzy Gagnon led the offense with three hits while Meserve and Clara Walling had two apiece.

The Hopkinton JV baseball team defeated Conant, 14-4. Sam Crawford (seven strikeouts in four innings) and Kevin Newton-Delgado (no runs, no hits in two innings) pitched well. Zach Berliner went 3-for-5 with a double, run and four RBI. The Hawks’ Nos. 2-4 hitters (Larsen Burack, Colby Marshal and Crawford) went a combined 5-for-9 with six walks, nine runs and five RBI. Dan Tucker hit a two-run single and Trent Gagnon made a great defensive play at third.

The Concord JV baseball team hammered out 16 hits en route to an 11-8 win over Pinkerton. Leading the offense for the Tide were Jacob Knowles (four hits, two RBI) and Thomas Burns (three hits, two RBI). Eric Sullivan earned the win.

The Hopkinton JV boys’ lacrosse team beat Coe-Brown, 5-2. Jake Tomlinson (two goals) and Reed Tanavasu (goal) led the offense, while Ryan Hughes had a strong defensive game and goalie Alex Rousseau had six saves.

Mason Grasso and Jackson Hinkell both had a goal and an assist to lead the Bow boys’ JV lacrosse team to a 9-3 victory over Hollis-Brookline. Andrew Ralston and Jonathan Guimond played outstanding defense.

The Concord JV softball team defeated Pinkerton, 15-3. Brighid Weeden (six innings, four strikeouts, four walks, five hits, three runs) was the winning pitcher. Anna Lebrun (4-for-5, two runs), Caitlyn Kelley (2-for-3, three runs, walk, two RBI), Jaden Morin (double, home run, walk, two RBI) led the offense. Concord also defeated Alvirne on Friday, 21-10. Kasie Maloney (seven innings, four strikeouts, eight hits) earned the win in addition to batting 5-for-6 with four RBI, four runs and a double. Also playing well for Concord were Lauren Hatch (6-for-6, RBI, double), Anita Dibuono (4-for-6, four RBI, double, triple) and Kelley (4-for-4, five RBI, home run).

Middle school results

The Hopkinton baseball team tied Merrimack Valley, 5-5. Hopkinton was led by the pitching of Jack Vallari and Shepyrd Murdough and a big hit from Denver Sykes in the first. Ryan Graham and Darren Earley played well in the field.

Franklin softball improved to 7-0 with win against Alton. Allison Andrews struck out seven and allowed three hits from the circle. Allison also contributed with a single. Libbey Hicks had a triple and a double with five RBI. Payton Crowley had two singles. Jill Swett got her first hit of the season and two RBI.

Youth baseball

The Banks Chevrolet Cal Ripken majors team beat Metzger-McGuire of Hopkinton. Bryce Miller pitched three solid innings on the mound to earn his first win on the season. The balanced offense was highlighted by Dylan Miles with three hits. Logan Mayo turned in some great defense for Banks. Banks also beat Metzger-McGuire in a second game. Trevor Smith hit a pair of three-run homers. Miles pitched four innings for the win and Smith came in to close it out. Owen Currier chipped in with a hit.

Rath, Young & Pignatelli came back from a 5-0 deficit to beat Cimo’s South End Deli, 7-5. Daniel Spooner and Chris Grimbilas pitched shutout ball in relief for Rath, while Isaiah Robles and Dawson Fancher made some key defensive plays. Paul Viola had a big double. Cimo’s Cam Brown and Kevin Jones pitched very well, allowing only four hits combined. Rath won another come-from-behind victory against Phillips Auto of Tilton/Northfield Little League by scoring three runs in its last at-bat. The offense was led by Caden Green’s three hits and Fancher’s five RBI. Evan Crandlemire pitched solid relief to earn the victory.

Youth softball

In majors softball, Concord National’s Cimo’s Deli defeated Franklin Savings Bank. For Cimo’s, Aubrey Benger led the defense while Cassie Pfitzenmeyer, Libby Segal and Alice Rosenberg led the offense. For Franklin Savings, Madison Cusello had a great catch, Emma Danko pitched well and Meghan Murray had a good hit.

Vermette Orthodontics played Claudia’s Hair Salon in a game with several lead changes. For Vermette, Ella Fishwick and Gracie McHugh had some nice hits and Willa Marino pitched well and made some key plays in the field. For Claudia’s, Liz Mullen pitched two solid innings and Natalia Barrasso and Kaylee Dellolacono had big hits.

Concord National’s Cimo’s Deli Babe Ruth team defeated Chichester’s Moses Trucking. For Cimo’s, Jaelynn Kelleher pitched well while Rachel Pauley and Jordan Cromwell led the offense. For Moses, Whitney Moses pitched well and led the offense along with Bridget Mercier.

Youth lacrosse

The Bow Youth Lacrosse U13 girls defeated Windham, 11-8. Olivia Matthews and Catherine Windsor each had two goals. Sarah Lavigne, Jessica Chamberlin, Addy Trefethen, Ava Kehas, Elena Roy, Sidney Virta and Gretl Shaw also scored. Megan Landcastle and Ava Wing were solid in the goal.

In girls’ U11 lacrosse, Concord Crush Orange defeated Hollis, 11-6. Becca Barnard had many saves in goal, Fleur Caryl-Klika scored two goals and Morgan Doherty played well at midfield, picking up some key ground balls. Concord also defeated Timberlane White, 13-2.

The Concord Crush U11 orange boys’ team defeated the Timberlane White, 13-2. Scoring for the Crush were William Brochu (three) Tyler Fennelly (three), Henry Brochu (two), Church Slathe (two), Teigan Mason, Neil Lavallee and Eliot Asbury.

College standouts

Pembroke’s Emma Gagnon earned Yankee Small College Conference All-Conference honors for the NHTI softball team. Gagnon hit .446 and stole 15 bases. Pembroke’s Chris Gauss earned the All-Conference nod in baseball. Gauss hit .368 with 10 RBI and five doubles.

Tilton School results

The Tilton School varsity softball team fell to New Hampton, 12-8. Melyssa Donovan (three hits, three RBI), Margot Formisano (two hits) and Zoey Nash-Boucher (hit, RBI) led the offense. Formisano struck out five in the circle.

The Tilton varsity girls’ lacrosse team fell to New Hampton, 18-1. Stasia Bogacz and Paige Patterson, both of Concord, played well.

Concord Flyers girls’ track and field team will open its 25th season with a practice on May 26 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Memorial Field track. The team is open to all girls in grades 3-8. UNH field hockey team will hold two summer camps as well as two summer youth clinics. Session I will be held June 29-July 2, followed by Session II from July 6-9 and the youth clinic will be held July 7-8.
