The Belmont boys’ track and field team won its third home meet of the season, defeating several other Lakes Region teams and giving itself an unblemished record on its home track.
Belmont (116.5 points) defeated Winnisquam (95), defending Division III champion Inter-Lakes (86.5), Gilford (82.5), Mascoma (64), Bishop Brady (27) and Franklin (20).
The Red Raiders did especially well on the track, led by Eli Allman with wins in both the 110-meter hurdles (16.0) and 300 hurdles (42.0). Kyle Gelinas won the 1,600 in 4:42 and Nick Randos won the 800 in 2:11 (he also finished fifth in the 1,600), while the 4×100 (first) and 4×400 (second) relays also did well.
In the field, Adam Sojka won triple jump (37-).
Belmont’s Ian Remenar (second 300 hurdles), River Mathieu (second 100, fourth 400), Nolan Gagnon (tied fourth 800), Maximilian Schott (tied fourth 800), Marc Forgione, Jr. (tied fourth 100), TJ Hennessey (fourth 200, tied fourth 100) and Zach Ennis (fourth 1,600) also contributed with top finishes.
Winnisquam’s runner-up finish was led by victories from Scott Hinds in the 400 in 53.9 (he also finished second in the 200), Connor Archibald (won high jump at 5-4, fourth triple jump), Henry Stock (won discus in 117-5, third javelin, fifth shot put) and Michael Buxton (won javelin in 142-8). Kyle Mann (third 3,200, second 400) also placed well.
Cameron Pigeon (third 110 hurdles, fourth 300 hurdles) and Sean Sullivan (third discus, fourth shot put) were the top scorers for Bishop Brady. Christian Shepard (tied second high jump), CJ Gaslin (third shot put, sixth discus) and Kyle Adams (fourth javelin) led Franklin.
The Raider girls also won, making it their second victory on their home track this season. Belmont (109) narrowly topped Inter-Lakes (105), Gilford (94) and Winnisquam (93). Bishop Brady (28), Mascoma (18) and Franklin (seven) rounded out the team scores.
The Raiders did especially well in the mid-distance and distance events with Jasmine Syed winning the 400 (1:05.2), Alice Riley winning the 1,600 (5:43), Jessica Hutchinson winning the 800 (2:42) and Emma Chase (second 400) and Makayla Palmer (third 400) scoring. The 4×400 (first) and 4×100 (second) relays placed well.
Kylie Donovan (second 100 hurdles, second 300 hurdles), Kaitlyn Delisle (second 100, third long jump), Taylor Murray (fourth 100, fifth 200) and Chloe Sottak (fourth shot put, fifth 100) were other top performers for Belmont.
Jaila Remillard led Winnisquam with wins in the 200 (27.8), 300 hurdles (16.0) and long jump (16-0). Kaylyn Dion won the discus (94-1) and finished third in the javelin. Phoebe Keck (third 100, third 200), Olivia Doubleday (third shot put, fifth javelin), Caitlin Dumont (fourth javelin, sixth shot put), Socorra Summers (fourth 100 hurdles) and the 4×400 (second) were the other top finishers.
Amelia Toole (second 800, second 1,600) and Lila Bradley (third 300 hurdles, fourth 200) led Bishop Brady while Lindsey Borges (fourth 300 hurdles) and Sydney Ericson (fifth 300 hurdles, sixth 100 hurdles) scored for Franklin.
