How would you feel if you learned the reason a friend or family member you had been texting didn’t reply to your last text is because they just died in an automobile accident?

Texting is generally a two-person activity, and just as we often charge people who merely witness crimes without any effort to prevent them as accomplices, so to we should charge people who knowingly text people while they are driving. Sometimes we don’t know the person we’re texting is driving, but often we do.

We should always attempt to find out before continuing a text-based conversation.
