While I applaud the Monitor’s coverage promoting the Concord High School production of “Anything Goes,” I was horrified at the choice of accompanying photo depicting a young male pointing a gun at a young woman.
I realize it’s just a plot point from an award-winning, light hearted musical but – out of context, as a I turned the page with my morning coffee – I found it a truly sickening image.
In these times when entertainment media constantly contributes to desensitization to violence, especially against women, I think the photo was a poor choice by editors.
