Troy Davis had three first-place finishes to lead the Kearsarge boys’ track and field team to a second-place finish at the 18-team Wilderness League Championship on Saturday in Belmont.

The Division III Cougars totaled 102 points to finish behind only D-II Kennett (114 points). Kingswood was third with 83 points followed by Inter-Lakes (67) and Belmont (45). Winnisquam (seventh with 24 points), Bishop Brady (14th) and Franklin (15th) also competed.

White Mountains claimed the win on the girls’ side with 112 points followed by Kennett (98) and Kingswood (69). Belmont took fifth with 40 points and Winnisquam tied with Laconia for sixth with 36 points while Kearsarge was 11th.

Davis, as usual, dominated the jumps. He finished first in the high jump (6-4), long jump (20-2.5) and triple jump (42-3.5). The Kearsarge boys also got big field points from Zach Astle, who was first in the shot put (53-9.5), second in the discus and fourth in the javelin.

Ian Bready had the other individual win for the Cougars, taking first in the 300 hurdles in 40.60 to go along with his third-place result in the 110 hurdles. Cameron Webster (second 100, third 200), Grant Croft (fourth triple jump), Hunter Burns (fifth 800) and Tim Cunningham (fifth 3,200) also had good days for Kearsarge.

Eli Allman led the way for host Belmont, finishing first in the 110 hurdles (15.9) and second in the 300 hurdles. Kyle Gelinas was third in the 1,600 and the Raiders also took third in both the 4×100 and 4×400 relays.

Winnisquam’s Henry Stock was third in the javelin and fourth in the shot put while Scott Hinds finished third in the 400 and fourth in the pole vault. Michael Buxton took fifth in the javelin for the Bears.

Franklin’s points came from Giovanni Lemon (fifth long jump) and Brady’s came from Sean Sullivan (fourth discus).

Freshman Alice Riley turned in the most points for Belmont on its home track as she won the 3,200 (12:23.5) and finished second in the 1,600. Jasmine Syed took second in the 400 and Kylie Donovan was sixth in the 300 hurdles.

It was a monster day for Winnisquam’s Jaila Remillard, who took first in the 400 (1:02), first in the long jump (15-8), second in the 100 hurdles and third in the 200. Kaylyn Dion finished fifth in the discus for the Bears.

Patricia Jewell was third in the 3,200 and Courtney Lauster placed sixth in the triple jump for the Kearsarge girls.

Highlights/key moments: The Crimson Tide won all three relay events (4×100, 4×400 and 4×800) on their home track in the final meet of the regular season.

Highlights/key moments: Frechette opened the scoring in this wild game with a first-inning grand slam.
