John Stark Regional High School English teacher Grace MacMillan was a contestant on “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,” taped earlier this year. The episode will air locally on June 3 at 12:30 p.m. on WMUR.
Sycamore Community Garden Project has 161 gardens for low-income families, with most of its gardeners from the New American Community. For the second year, the garden project is partnering with UNH Thompson School of Agriculture, which grows 800 six packs of vegetables for the project, including African eggplant, hot peppers and okra. On June 2, starting at 4:30 p.m., the garden project will be giving away these plants at the pavilion near the boat ramp at NHTI in a three-way partnership of Sycamore, UNH and NHTI. NHTI supplies the land and one of its science teachers involves chemistry students to help improve soil quality.
On Friday, the Pembroke Hill School will host its 20th annual road race for first- through fourth-grade students. All students participate in the race, either walking the two-mile route or running.
