BOSCAWEN Veterans cemetery holds Memorial Day ceremony

A Memorial Day ceremony to honor veterans will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery on Route 3 N. Seating will be limited and attendees are advised to bring a lawn chair for their comfort. The ceremony will last about one hour and is hosted by the N.H. Veterans of Foreign Wars and the staff of the cemetery.

Need plants for your gardens? Head to the plant sale at the Boscawen Elementary School on Friday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Stop by and browse at the indoor yard sale in the basement of the Boscawen Congregational Church on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cash or check can be used for payment. Proceeds will benefit the ministry and mission of the church.

The Summer Youth Program will be held June 20 to Aug. 13. Children who live in Boscawen and are at least six years old are eligible to apply. CANTERBURY Longleash trio to perform during residency program

Canterbury will observe Memorial Day on Monday at 10 a.m. with a parade beginning at the elementary school. Veterans are invited to join 4-H, town groups, the select board, legislators, firefighters, police officers and the Belmont High School band at 9:45 a.m. to walk to the bandstand. The speaker this year will be Air Force veteran, surveyor and local historian Mark Stevens. Vietnam veteran the Rev. Bill Donohue, a Navy corpsman, will deliver the invocation and benediction. Vietnam veteran Capt. Dale Caswell will officiate.

WEARE Don’t miss bingo

Weare’s townwide yard sale will be Saturday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Maps of more than 80 sites will be available the day of sale at Stone Memorial Building.

Weare Farmers Market will be held Fridays from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Old Town Hall and Community Center.

The nonprofit South Weare Improvement Society will hold bingo June 18, July 16, Aug. 20, Sept. 17, and Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. at Osborne Memorial Hall. Bingo sheets, daubers, pull-tabs and refreshments are for sale. Proceeds benefit Osborne Memorial Hall renovations, so do not carry in. No one under 18 is allowed.

WEBSTER Barn sales begin

Webster Free Public Library will be closed Monday in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday.

There will be a pancake breakfast today at 9 a.m. at the Cozy Pond Camping Resort, 541 Battle St., for the benefit of the DARE Program.

“Pennies From Heaven Farm” will open barn sales for the benefit of Webster Congregational Church on June 10 from 10-6:00pm and June 11 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donations are still being accepted until Thursday at 6 p.m. It has items such as cases, coffee mugs , dishes, reading material, toys, some furniture, gifts, greeting cards. One will be surprised what they can find. Prices are low and service is friendly. Refreshments are usually offered.

A senior lunch will be held Thursday at the Salisbury Congregational Church. Activities will include a blood pressure clinic from 11:15 a.m. to noon. Then, lunch, followed with more time for fun and fellowship and a few hands of bingo for fun. If you want to attend but haven’t been contacted, call Sandy Miller at 934-3198.
