The long-range planning committee of the Merrimack Valley school board invites residents of the school district to participate in a survey on communication within the district. It is available online at the mvsdpride.org. If you prefer to do it offline, paper copies are available at the town offices in Boscawen, Salisbury and Webster; the elementary schools in Loudon, Salisbury and Webster; the Maxfield Library in Loudon; Bradley’s Pizza in Boscawen and Thirty Pines in Penacook. Survey results will be considered in the creation of a district communication plan.
The final South Congregational Church garden tour will be held June 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine. Special gardens in Concord, Bow, Chichester, Epsom and Pembroke will participate in the tour. Proceeds will support local Concord community organizations, particularly those that deal with the issues of hunger and homelessness, as well as maintenance of the church’s own gardens. Tickets can be pre-purchased for a discounted $18 on or before June 17 at southchurchconcord.org or bought online after June 17 for $25. Tickets can also be purchased the day of the event for $25 at South Congregational Church, 27 Pleasant St., Concord from 9 to 10:30 a.m., cash or check only. The Program for Academic Exchange “PAX” is seeking host families in the Concord High school district. One is a 16-year-old boy from Senagal, West Africa, who will be attending high school in the fall. He has good English skills, and his own spending money and medical insurance.
