Police say a motorcyclist is dead after colliding with a car in Laconia.
The crash occured about 3:45 p.m. Thursday on Union Avenue, just days before the start of the annual Laconia Bike Week, set to begin this weekend.
Police say the motorcycle had been traveling west when it collided with an eastbound car that was turning into a parking lot.
The motorcyclist was identified as 20-year-old Justin O’Connor, of Gilford. He was taken to Lakes Region General Hospital and later flown to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
The occupants of the car weren’t injured.
