Weapons of war

In the wake of the recent mass murder in Orlando, some have called for renewal of the ban on assault weapons, in effect 1994-2004 before being ended by Congress. Since the ban ended, there have been at least nine mass shootings using these high-velocity, large-magazine killing machines.

Critics of the ban on the AR-15 and similar weapons have noted that millions of American citizens use these weapons โ€œin a responsible manner.โ€

What on earth would constitute a responsible use of assault rifles, developed for war, by civilians?
