Hopkinton It’s swimming time

Kimball Pond, 58 Rollins Road, will open Saturday. Weather permitting, it will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Canterbury Intense dancing

Shaker Dance Revival Projects’s Summer Dance Intensive will begin Wednesday. The intensive is offering new options for its summer classes. You may design your participation according to your schedule. All six days cost $400, three days are $200. Dance for one day for $70. All classes are now open to professional dancers. Concord Teen open mic at Market Days fest

Registration is open for the poetry “Open Mic Night for Teens” to be held from 6 to 7 p.m. June 25 during the Concord Market Days festival. Students may read an original work or the work of another poet. Students are asked to present for no more than three minutes and may be invited to read a second poem, time permitting. The event will be held at the festival’s South Main Street Park, near Red River Theatres and the Concord Food Coop. Each student who registers for and recites at the event will receive a gift certificate to a downtown Concord merchant. Concord Shoot for the stars

The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. seven days a week from today to Labor Day. Visitors will be able to enjoy the Discovery Center’s new exhibit “Eat Well, Play Well,” permanent exhibits, daily planetarium shows and summer camps for kids and teens.
