Time to spill the beans: Chipotle Mexican Grill is coming to Concord.

The national chain will open June 25 at 265 Loudon Road, in a new development near Steeplegate Mall.

Workers are already inside the restaurant, but a sign on the front door advises, โ€œNot Quite Yet.โ€

Chipotleโ€™s website lists job opportunities for interested applicants. A company spokesman did not return a phone call Friday.

Chipotle will operate in a standalone building. Other businesses โ€“ also chains โ€“ have opened in a neighboring strip mall. The entire development was built by Mike Dโ€™Amante, whose family has long been involved with real estate on Loudon Road.

Dโ€™Amante has been planning this development since 2008. Its original layout included more than 125,000 square feet of retail space, but those blueprints gathered dust during the recession. In 2014, he went back to the Concord planning board with plans for this smaller, 27,000-square-foot project.

Last year, he announced a string of tenants, including Aspen Dental and AT&T.

โ€œWe could fill it up many times with the interest,โ€ Dโ€™Amante said at the time. โ€œBut itโ€™s been an expensive project, so it has to have tenants that can pay top-tier rent. And thatโ€™s the kind of setting we want. We want high-class and destination-driven.โ€

Dโ€™Amante did not return a call for comment last week.

Following an E. coli outbreak last October, Chipotle has implemented new safety procedures and is fighting to win back customers. The restaurant also has locations in Bedford,ย Manchester and Nashua.

Other local burrito stops in Concord includeย Boloco on Fort Eddy Road and Dos Amigos Burritos on North Main Street.
