An effective NRA strategy

“Common Sense” is not a secret code word for “confiscation.”

Obama has said repeatedly over the years that he is looking for common-sense gun restrictions. Semi-automatic and automatic weapons, such as the AK-47s, belong on the battlefield of war, not in our streets, schools, theaters or night clubs.

The NRA executives are not objective. The NRA is run mostly by gun manufacturers who increase their sales by striking fear into the hearts of gun owners.

Back in 2008, when Obama first ran, the NRA spent millions in political ads trying to convince voters their guns would be taken away, and they guaranteed our Second Amendment rights would be violated if Obama was elected.

Eight years later, no such thing even remotely happened. In fact, Obama inadvertently has been history’s best gun salesman, because after every one of his 16 heart-felt public addresses after horrible mass shootings, gun sales have gone up, largely because of the NRA’s fear tactics.

And like sheep we continue to believe what the NRA says. Apparently their fear strategy works.

They advertise lies, line their pockets with increased profits and hide behind the First and Second Amendments. When will we ever learn?
