On June 11, the Pembroke Historical Society was the recipient of the Belletetes “We Build It Forward” campaign to re-roof our headquarters behind Pembroke Town Hall.
Not only did A&B Lumber provide all of the materials needed for the project, but they provided enough man-power to supplement the volunteer expertise of local contractors: Tom Hebert of Homecraft Contractors, Inc. as well as Peter and John Bullock of 7-Siding Inc. to finish it in one weekend!
We could not have kept everyone going without generous donations of food from Kimball’s Cav’ern and Associated Grocers of New England. The aid of the Town of Pembroke was evident in the participation of Town Administrator David Jodoin, as well as the loan of a truck and services by the Public Works Department.
This effort is just the first step in our quest to open up this former schoolhouse to the public. Now that the contents of the building will stay dry, we can move forward with the next step!
