Please stay involved

A few thoughts in response to Ellie Pope’s letter (Monitor letters, June 17).

I somewhat share your objections to the two presidential candidates that we have, and I applaud your interest in this election. I hope all of your friends are equally engaged. This is too important an election to sit out and let others decide for you.

I would suggest that you look carefully at the ideas each of the (now three) parties offer. They are markedly different on issues like education, women’s rights, health care, our role in the world, the environment, just to name a few.

So the question is not which candidate you like, but which side do you think can lead to a better nation and world. Please stay involved and active. This is, after all, your world and nation that is at stake this November.
