The hours of TV interviews of Brits after the Brexit vote yielded some odd confessions. Several said they were very angry and wanted to send the government a message with their votes to leave the European Union. But they also said they hadn’t expected the result would be to drop out of the EU; they merely were venting their frustration – so let’s have a re-do referendum to get the vote right.

Let’s be careful with our anger in November; we may get what we don’t really want and there will be no do-over mulligan.
