Rain or shine, there will be fun events Monday. A pancake breakfast will be served 8 to 11 a.m. at the Slusser Senior Center. Breakfast includes sausage, fruit compote and real maple syrup. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children.
At 8 a.m., the timed four-mile road race will start at Slusser Senior Center at Houston Park. Race day registration is at 7:30 a.m. Walkers are welcome. There is no fee, but donations can be made to support “Homes for our Troops.”
The five-mile canoe and kayak race will be at 11 a.m. Registration will be 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the end of Riverside Drive. The cost is $15 per person (age 15 and younger race for free). A one-mile youth race will be offered.
The kids parade is at 11:30 a.m., with registration at 10:30 a.m. at the gazebo. The main parade is at noon. Line-up is at 11:30 a.m. at Hopkinton High School. The parade will proceed through Fountain Square toward Contoocook Village Cemetery.
At 12:30 p.m. there will be a free Family Fun Day at Houston Park with old-fashioned games and contests, a silent auction, live music, food and the Tooky Cookie Bake-Off. Drop off cookies, recipe and entry form at the Slusser Senior Center from 9 a.m. to noon.
