A person should join Scouts because it is fun and you learn new thing like camping, making a fire, cooking, first aid and knife safety. Also, you’re outside a lot. Hidden Valley is super fun. The first year is fun; you do a five mile hike up a mountain and go through Camp Bell, then you walk back to a big feast at the dining hall then do open shoot, free swim and all that. You build some friendships and make new friends, some older than you, some younger than you, and some the same age. You also meet friends from around the world, like Canada, and learn new languages. To join, anywhere in New Hampshire, you can visit nhscouting.org to find a troop near you. Troop 97 meets every Monday at 7 p.m. You do not have to live in a specific town to join the troop you choose. You can also call Scout Master Dan Swett at 848-7261
