Names and backgrounds of key leaders: Elyssa Alfieri is a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University, with degrees in Retailing and Fashion Merchandising. She most recently applied her love of small business to running Zoe & Co. on Main Street for seven years. A true lover of all things thrift and vintage, Elyssa enthusiastically made the switch to her true dream job: running a women’s high end consignment business. While she isn’t running Lilise, Elyssa serves as President of the Board of Directors for Intown Concord and is Chair of the Concord Young Professionals Network.
History of your business: Founded in 2011, Lilise Designer Resale quickly cemented its place in the community as a destination for high end clothing and accessories in the Capital Region.
What’s the biggest challenge facing your business, and how are you approaching it?: A highly saturated consignment market in Concord has made it even more important for individual stores to carve out their individual niche. Lilise has found it in providing well-curated access to brands and designers not found in New Hampshire or the surrounding areas, and has thusly filled a need in the Concord community. Especially being a business that is “hiding in plain sight” just off of Main Street, brand awareness remains an important focus in marketing.
