The time has come to recognize the fact that guns of all types have but one purpose: to kill. Nothing else.
When the Second Amendment was written, this country was 13 states bordering on a vast jungle of wild animals and Indians. Those days are gone forever. What we need to do is change the Second Amendment to limit firearms to police and military. Then the government should issue strict orders that all guns are to be relinquished to the National Guard of each state to melt them down for military use.
This will be a tremendous task and should take several years to accomplish. It will be well worth the effort. This should also dissolve the NRA, once and for all.
