A Pembroke man suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries after crashing his dirt bike on a Class VI road in Bow.
Jacob Parker, 20, was also summoned for riding an unregistered off-highway recreational vehicle and riding on property without the landowner’s written permission.
Fish and Game officials say Parker was riding north on an unmaintained section of Woodhill Hooksett Road on Sunday shortly before 5 p.m. when he went off the right side of the road and hit a tree. He suffered a serious leg injury and was taken to Concord Hospital.
Officials believe inexperience and speed were factors in the crash after an initial investigation.
Police and fire rescue from Bow, along with the Hooksett Fire Department and Fish and Game conservation officers, responded to the call.
Driving an OHRV on private property is unlawful in New Hampshire without the landowner’s written permission, which must be kept by the driver at all times. Permission is not needed only if the trail is part of a legal designated trail network, according to Fish and Game.
