I feel compelled to reply to the Aug. 3 “My Turn” by Sarah Freeman-Woolpert.
In the narrative, Freeman-Woolpert first honors the work of the Concord Police Department, then questions their motives, then again pays homage to those who serve our fine city.
Subsequently, she asks pointed questions about the process and procedure of local law enforcement discipline and accountability.
I respectfully question whether she actually researched her concerns or simply jumped on the bandwagon of anti-police rhetoric.
If one was so inclined, the information requested regarding the training requirements of law enforcement in New Hampshire is easily found by inquiring with the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council by phone, in person or online. Further, one can call or visit their local police department.
If a member of law enforcement acts illegally I will be the first to condemn, but by and large these folks have a passion for justice. They are folks just like you and me. They are professionals who serve to protect us, and at the end of their shift just want to go home safe to their loved ones.
