Canterbury Woods Country Club’s Beth Hamilton shot a two-day total of 159 to win the city women’s stroke play championship. Hamilton, the club champion at Canterbury Woods, fired a 78 and an 81 to take her fifth title, finishing eight strokes clear of Loudon’s Karen Landry (86-81) and Canterbury Woods’s Mindy Williams (82-85). Canterbury Woods’s Andi Sweeney won the net title, shooting a 134 (71-63). Pembroke Pines’s Marlene Brodeur (72-63) was one shot back.
Concord’s Richard Croak, age 80, won the 100 meter dash, setting a new state record, won the 200 and finished second in the 400 at the Masters Games held in Manchester. Croak currently holds five other state records.
