As ugly as politics can be sometimes, every election cycle there are at least some worthy candidates to support. This time, there is one person who really stands out as a champion of the people. That person is Andru Volinsky, Democratic candidate for Executive Council in District 2, which includes Concord and 48 other cities and towns.
Throughout his life, Volinsky has used his considerable legal talents and work ethic to fight for those who are too often left voiceless in our society. For example, he has also been an indispensable leader in the fight for fair and adequate public education funding, dating back to his work on the Claremont lawsuit.
Volinsky has promised to continue to fight for us in the important position of Executive Councilor. He has pledged to work to bring commuter rail to New Hampshire, which will provide jobs for our citizens and ease congestion on our roads. He is also committed to Medicaid expansion and funding for Planned Parenthood, because he understands that increasing access to healthcare is vital to maintaining a good quality of life here in our state.
Volinsky seeks the office not for personal gain or to further some political ambition (he is not a career politician). He simply wants to help ensure that New Hampshire government is truly responsive to the needs of the people.
I urge everyone voting in the Democratic primary on Sept. 13 to cast their ballot for Andru Volinsky.
