Donate blood and get a free haircut

The American Red Cross and Sport Clips Haircuts are teaming up to offer a free haircut coupon to those who donate blood or platelets during September. Those who donate in September will receive an emailed coupon that will be valid through Nov. 6 at participating Sport Clips locations. For information, visit redcrossblood. org or Facebook.

Penacook Meadowlark Trio performs free show

The United Church of Penacook will host a free concert featuring The Meadowlark Trio on Tuesday at 7 p.m. An ensemble of piano, violin and cello, the trio was formed by three best friends at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and they have performed nationwide. The trio has been in residence at Avaloch Farm Music Institute in Boscawen this summer. Directions to United Church and additional information are available at ucpnh.org.

Gilford Old Home Day has pancake breakfast

The Gilford Rotary Club will host its annual pancake breakfast Saturday from 7 to 10 a.m. at the Gilford Youth Center on Potter Hill Road. All-you-can-eat pancakes will be served with sausage, orange juice and coffee. Gluten-free pancakes will also be on the menu. All proceeds will benefit the Cheryl Walsh Scholarship Fund.

Laconia Itโ€™s carnival time

The Leavitt Park Carnival will take place at 334 Elm St. on Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m. There will be games, bingo, a dunking booth, food, 50/50 raffle and more. If you can help out as a volunteer at the carnival, call Tony at 998-1418. The carnival will be inside if it rains.

Concord Parenting classes strengthen family

A free eight-week parenting series for parents of children ages 2 to 8 years old will be offered by Riverbend Community Mental Health. Classes begin Sept. 14 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in room 102 at the ChIP office, 105 Loudon Road. For information or to register, call Judy Stowell at 228-0547, ext. 4038.

Hopkinton Help out with buying school supplies

Marilyn Breesaw at Hopkinton Human Services is looking for community help. If you would like to shop for back-to-school supplies for a specific student, contact Marilyn at 746-8244 or email humanservices@hopkinton-nh.gov.
