A store operator in Epsom has pleaded guilty to selling synthetic drug products that were branded as “not for human consumption.”
Prosecutors say 24-year-old Brett Scott operated a “Smoke N Discount” store in Epsom and that the products sold were misleading and did not identify ingredients that they contained. They also didn’t include a manufacturer’s name or place of business, or directions for use.
The products, commonly referred to as “spice” and are smoked, are often marketed as incense or potpourri.
Scott has agreed to forfeit $30,000 and is scheduled for sentencing on Dec. 12.
