Keep your dogs cool

The farmers market by the State House in Concord is a great place to find various foods and other items of interest. It is not a great place to bring your dog when it is hot.

Pet-loving people seem not to realize the stress and discomfort they are imposing on their furry companions as they browse the market. Dogs would be much better off left at home in as cool a room as possible with plenty of fresh water, not parading up and down in the hot sun and walking on sometimes very hot asphalt, which could burn the pads of their paws.

Sure, it is fun to include your beloved pooch on your excursion and show him or her off to other shoppers, but it is not fun for the dog when the weather is as hot as we have experienced lately.

Please be kind to your pet and leave it in a cool place for the day (definitely not your car).
