Clinton a big voice for small businesses

I am a freelance writer employed by several small businesses. All these companies have very tight bottom lines. Just making payroll is a challenge, so they have few resources to deal with red tape when filing taxes or seeking loans.

It’s because of this that I’m supporting Hillary Clinton. Her plans to help this sector of the economy – by streamlining government-related applications and filings, as well as rules regarding small business loans – are vital. And, if they make it, I make it, and many more like me.

Why do I trust Clinton to do it? Her commitment goes back to when her husband tasked Vice President Al Gore with a massive overhaul of government regulations. They greatly reduced the rigmarole required to apply for an SBA loan, for example. During their first term (1995), 51 percent of loans went to small businesses, in 2012 only 29 percent did.

So it’s clear that Clinton has long believed that the small-business sector is the backbone of America. Now that the economy has bounced back, she will see that we refocus on this important part of our economy. Her plans even include new tax relief for this sector.

I don’t mind checking out what a politician’s specific plans are, as my ability to pay rent depends on knowing. I recommend that those as keen as I am to see small businesses get help should also visit hillaryclinton.com/issues/small-business.
