Womenโs Bible study will begin Sept. 20 at the library on Tuesday for 10 weeks from 9 to 10:30 a.m. focusing on the gospel of John. Free childcare is available by reservation. There will be a Scholastic Book Fair at Center Woods Upper Elementary School from Wednesday through Sept. 16. It will also have a school-wide open house Sept. 15 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
There will be an open house at Center Woods Elementary School on Sept.13 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. for first through third grades. School Picture Day will be Sept. 19. A parent/athlete meeting for fall sports will be Tuesday from 7 to 7:30 p.m. in the gym.

Bingo, hosted by the nonprofit South Weare Improvement Society will be Sept. 17 and Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. at Osborne Memorial Hall. Bingo sheets, daubers, pull-tabs and refreshments are for sale. Proceeds benefit Osborne Memorial Hall renovations, so please do not carry in. No one under 18 is allowed. Osborne Hall is for rent for special events. Webster Free Public Library will be closed Sunday through Wednesday for vacation. Bring your book donations Sept. 11 from noon to 4 p.m. or Sept. 12 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the book sale on election day, Sept. 13. Webster Church members will be selling refreshments at the town hall Sept. 13.
Many of the Webster church members and friends are staffing the Webster Congregational Church food booth at the Hopkinton State Fair this weekend.
There will be a senior luncheon at the Salisbury Congregational Church on Thursday. Activities will begin at 11:15 a.m. with a blood pressure clinic by Franklin VNA until noon, then the luncheon, followed by a few hands of bingo for donated prizes.
A new police chief has been hired for Webster. Chief Ben Liberatore, a former Connecticut state police officer, will start his duties on Oct. 1.
