A headline on the Aug. 24 Forum page suggests a “beginning of the end of the angry white male.” Wishful thinking. Delusional.
Angry white males threw tea into Boston Harbor centuries ago. Bill Clinton invented a catchy phrase for “so-called angry white males” – but in fact white males were joined by both black and white females in huge numbers in the phenomenon of the Tea Party.
“Angry white guys” were not, as your article alleges, “recast as the Tea Party.”
Furthermore, the Kent State shootings were justified. Yes, students died or were wounded, but at Kent State in early March of 1970 there had been genuine student rioting and an R.O.T.C. building had been burned prior to the calling out of the Ohio National Guard.
I do not condone the alleged “clobbering and kicking” of protesters. I am not a supporter of Trump. Just setting the record straight.
