Franklin

Karen Darling received the 2016 Woman of Achievement award from the Franklin Business and Professional Women organization. She has worked hard to make the town a better place, coordinating many service projects in addition to working full-time.

Hillsboro

Emily Hatcher received a Colby-Sawyer Collegeโ€™s Sawyer fellowship from Colby-Sawyer College in New London. Faculty and administrative staff nominate students for the honor based upon their excellence in the classroom, their leadership, and their involvement in the life of the college.

Hooksett

David Pearl, who died last June, was named one of two people to receive the 2016 Nackey S. Loeb First Amendment Award. Pearl was an outspoken advocate for the Right to Know Law and open government in his town and Pembroke. He also worked tirelessly to shine light on local government, being instrumental in updating Hooksettโ€™s cable system to televise public meetings and creating an online group in Hooksett for residents to post their own articles about town happenings.

Laconia

Renee Delaney received a scholarship from the Lakes Regional General Hospital Auxiliary to pursue a career in the healthcare field. She is attending Franklin Pierce University for a doctorate in physical therapy.

Anne Dionne received a scholarship from the Lakes Regional General Hospital Auxiliary to pursue a career in the healthcare field. She is attending the University of Rhode Island for a doctorate in pharmacy.
