Concord City Auditorium is shining, thanks to the amazing 2016 Pitch In when 73 people from 57 families, age 12 into their 80s, showed up to get the theater set for the busy 2016-17 season.

The 26th annual community service project stretched out into four September โ€œDays of Caringโ€ as the historic chandeliers were lowered, dressing rooms painted, and the first restored seats set to demonstrate the seasonโ€™s big upgrade. The Pitch In volunteers worked a total of 375 hours โ€“ and at U.S. Department of Labor rates, they contributed $8,344 in preservation services to the City of Concord, and its municipal stage.

The worth of their work doubles, for it also helps to hold down the cost of Audi productions and show tickets, keeping the theater affordable and accessible to everyone in our community.

The Friends are grateful to Joye Olson, serving as Pitch In crew chief for the 25th season, to Vincent Bonjorno, the โ€œPostmaster of the Audiโ€ leading the annual cooperative mailing projects, and to the professional painters and contractors whose skills guided the willing crews.

Thanks go to the Public Properties Division staff for guidance and supplies, to Panera Bread for providing the delicious breakfast and supper treats, and to everyone who came in to help out.
