A Laconia man was arrested Friday afternoon after a joint investigative operation led to the seizure of a quantity of drugs and weapons.
Robert Golden Jr., 37, of 148 Union Ave., Apt. 6 in Laconia was linked to a package that was delivered to the post office located on Church Street that contained 56 grams of methamphetamine, according to a press release from the Laconia Police Department. He was taken into custody after he arrived to pick up the package.
An initial investigation led to the recovery of five grams of heroin, a small quantity of methamphetamine, marijuana and a significant quantity of drug paraphernalia. In addition, the investigation also led to the seizure of a .22 caliber handgun, a pump-action shotgun, several hundreds of rounds of ammunition and several large knives. The press release stated a large quantity of naloxone, or Narcan, was found in Golden’s apartment.
The arrest was deemed “significant,” according to the press release.
The investigation was conducted by the Laconia Police Department, the state police narcotics unit and the United States Postal Inspector Service.
