The state’s littlest inventors will be getting their biggest break tonight when they appear on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, according to SAU 24’s community outreach coordinator Patti Osgood.
Sadie McCallum, a fourth-grader at Center Woods Elementary School in Weare, along with her first-grade sister Claire, will be appearing on the show tonight as part of the “Fallonventions” series. The show’s website states the segment is meant to showcase the best inventions of bright young minds around the country. To appear on the show, parents or legal guardians had to create a video of their child’s idea and submit it on either Facebook or Youtube.
Sadie and Claire have been in the local spotlight before for their “Amazing Curb Climber,” which won first-place for “Best Use of a Wheel” at their school’s Invention Convention and second-place for “Kids’ Choice,” according to a blog post on Boston Children’s Hospital’s website. They also attended the regional Invention Convention and won first-place for “Special Needs Award” and another first-place for “Microsoft Technology Award.”
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs on NBC stations at 11:35 p.m.
