What was the highlight of your season? Every year, it is tradition for the team to go on a sunrise hike, eat breakfast at the top of the mountain and set goals. This definitely was the highlight of my season. At this point, anything was possible.
Who was the unsung hero of your team? Jessalyn Brown. She was the only setter for our team and definitely one of the most imperative and skilled team members. I used to be a setter, and from experience I know that setters are rarely noticed next to those gettings tons and digs and kills; however, without Jess, there’s no way that we would have made it as far as we did.
What was the biggest surprise of the season? One day, I had a really bad game. It was near the middle of our season against Newfound. I was not playing very well, nor was the rest of my team. By the fourth game, we got our groove back, and we managed to win the game in five. The next day, my coach announced that I had broken the school record for digs in a match. This was definitely the most surprising moment of the season.
Do you have any sports superstitions? If so, what are they? Every game I would braid my hair a certain way. I don’t know if I thought that it was “lucky” or not, but if I didn’t, I would feel really out of my element.
What is your favorite pregame meal? It’s not a meal, but my team would always feast on snap peas before our games. One girl brought them in one day, and it just became a trend.
If someone was going to make a movie on your season, who would play your coach? Who would play you? My coach would play my coach and I would play myself. You have to keep it realistic!
If you could go to any sporting event, what would it be? Most definitely a professional volleyball game. I don’t think I could even chose certain teams that I would want to watch, they’re all so good.
If you weren’t playing a sport in the fall, what would you be doing? I am involved in 11 clubs, so I would probably devote more of my time to those.
What’s your favorite app? Probably Instagram. I really enjoy seeing all the different pictures that people post.
What’s your most played song right now? “Closer” by the Chainsmokers and Halsey.
Do you have any must see TV shows? My family and I are really big on “The Office.”
If you could have dinner with any three people, who would they be? What would you serve? I would definitely chose to have dinner, specifically steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans, with Steve Carell, John Krasinski, and Rainn Wilson.
If you got $1 million to start a company, what would you do? If I had $1 million, I would probably create some type of social media app. I’m not sure what it would do… but I would hire someone to figure that out.
If you had to go on a talent show, what would you do? I don’t have any real “talent-showy” type of talents, so I would probably resort to just doing a bottle flip.
