Just get it done

I can’t believe that the powers that be in Concord and the DOT have sat on their thumbs for a year, had meetings and couldn’t come up with a damn simple solution to plow the sidewalk.

Maybe Gov.-elect Sununu will put out an executive order to plow the sidewalk before someone else gets killed. But then again, he’s a politician, too.

It is so sad that even a tragic death could not accomplish this minor job. I bet that if a hunk of concrete split off the sidewalk and fell below, the state would rush in and fix it before someone got hurt. That would fall under maintenance wouldn’t it? What the heck is plowing the sidewalk called? Maintenance, that’s what. Who digs the grass out of the cracks? More maintenance. But snow? No way.

Makes sense, doesn’t it?

Concord’s sidewalk plow goes to the lights and beyond anyway. Why can’t that little plow hang a right and take a swipe down to the Friendly Kitchen and back? Won’t cost much, maybe 50 bucks in fuel for the season.

Come on, politicians. Get something accomplished this year for a change. Use your common sense before someone files that inevitable lawsuit.

Shame on you all.
