Boscawen officials are asking for input on what the town might do with its old police station.
“We had reviewed back a few years ago if we wanted a use or wanted to find a use for that building,” town co-administrator Alan Hardy said. The town ultimately decided to keep the property adjoining its current fire station after the police department left its original building in 2003.
The police joined the town administrative offices in moving to North Main Street. In the meantime, the Boscawen Fire Department has used the old, vacant building for training.
Now, Hardy said, the town has been approached by a Webster resident who wants to open a coffee shop in the old police station.
“(It) is one use many people have said we need,” said Hardy, who declined to name the resident.
A public hearing on the matter will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday on the fourth floor of the Boscawen municipal complex.
