Tuesday’s painting group at the Chapin Senior Center in New London was smaller than usual but still lively. Despite the cold, friends came by to enjoy coffee and cookies, chat, play music, and work on their art. “It’s just so much fun to paint with other people,” said Margo Steeves of South Newbury. The weekly meetings started about 10 years ago after a four-week watercolor class offered in town had ended. Steeves and others decided to keep meeting year-round.
