Mount Royal defeated Newport, 37-28, to win the boys’ championship at the Lions Middle School Tournament. Louis Larosilliere scored 10 points and was named the tournament MVP. In the girls’ division, Newport defeated Mount Royal, 27-9. Eliza Bates led Newport with 13 points and was named the girls’ tournament MVP. In consolation games, the Kearsarge boys defeated Andover, 40-30 while the Andover girls defeated Kearsarge, 26-9.
The McDevitt Truck Concord Capital Mite 1 team defeated the West River Royals, 5-1. Patrick Owen, Alex May, Max Branch, Nolan Walsh and Tyler Mayo scored for Concord. Tad Stokes and Michael Barry played well on defense.
The Concord High School JV wrestling team competed in the Windham JV New Years Tournament on Friday.
