The Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos became the first NFL teams to officially hire new head coaches this season, as both franchises announced their picks to the media Wednesday.
The Bills are putting their faith in Sean McDermott to replace Rex Ryan, who was fired two weeks ago for failing to deliver on his bold promises to build the Bills into a bully.
The 42-year-old has no previous head-coaching experience and spent the past six seasons overseeing the Panthersโ defense.

Meanwhile, the Broncos hired Vance Joseph as their head coach in an announcement made in twitter.
He was on Elwayโs short list when Kubiak, 55, stepped down last week over health concerns after Denver (9-7) missed the playoffs a year after winning Super Bowl 50.
The 44-year-old ex-Colorado quarterback, spent last season as Miamiโs defensive coordinator after building a reputation as one of the leagueโs top secondary coaches.
