Fourth and fifth graders from the Christa McAuliffe School and English language learner students from Concord High School were among the audience at this month’s Bach’s Lunch concert at the Concord Community Music School on Thursday.
Dancing was encouraged during the last few pieces as the Himalaya Hertitage Music Group performed classical, folk, and sacred music from regions of Nepal, Bhutan and India.
The group is made up of three musicians from Nepal – Ranjan Budhathoki on flute; Harimaya Adhikari on vocals and harmonium, a hand-pumped reed organ; and Sagar Khatiwada on tabla, a double drum with resonating surfaces on the top side.
