The Coe-Brown JV boys’ basketball team beat Plymouth, 67-33. Tyler Troy led the team with 11 points, while Spencer Murphy (10), Kyshaun Rowell (9) and Jacob Rich (8) also scored.
The Merrimack Valley JV girls’ basketball team trailed by just six after one quarter, but couldn’t get the offense going in a 57-23 loss to Hanover. Aislinn McDonald (eight points), Hannah Costello (four points), and Haleigh Boutwell (three points, four rebounds) led MV.
The Hillsboro-Deering JV girls’ basketball team lost to Newport, 40-25. Lydia Powell had eight points for the Hillcats.
The Merrimack Valley Middle School boys’ basketball team lost to Pelham, 62-37. Griffin Wheeler lead the offense with 20 points. Matt Plummer and Hayden Consoletti each had five rebounds.
The Bow girls’ fifth-grade basketball team enjoyed two wins over the weekend, 25-23 against New Boston and 25-23 against Hudson. Leading the way for Bow were Chloe Best with 22 points, Kate Lebreque with 13, Sidney Roberge with six, Sara Gagne with three, and Kendall Murray, Jill Harpering and Melanie Lebreque each with two. Emma Kelly played strong defense.
The Bow sixth-grade girls defeated ICB, 33-6, in the first round of the Merrimack Basketball Invitational. Lyndsey LaPerle and Alexandra Larrabee paced Bow (11-15) with 11 and eight points respectively. Catherine Windsor, Meghan Wray and Ellie Pingree chipped in four points apiece. Amelia Clark had several assists.
The Shaheen and Gordon Concord Capitals Pee Wee 1 squad beat the Granite State Wild, 2-1, downed the Hanover Wild, 3-0, and dropped a game to the New Hampshire East Eagles, 5-2. AJ Fennelly scored both goals against Granite State, and was assisted by Heath Mann. Sam Folds, Fennelly and Joey Tarbell scored against Hanover, with assists from Brody McGonigle and Colby Despres. In the loss to the Eagles, Fennelly and Evan Crandlemire scored goals and McGonigle added an assist. In all three games, Kalan Gaudreaut put forth an outstanding effort in net.
Concord’s Isabel Stoddard had a goal and an assist as the St. Paul’s girls’ varsity hockey team beat Northfield Mount Hermon, 2-1, in overtime.
The St. Paul’s School girls’ basketball team beat Andover, 44-35. Jaxy Marquez led with 17 points for St. Paul’s, including four 3-pointers in the second half. Emiliana Geronimo was strong in the paint with 16 rebounds, nine points and six assists.
The St. Paul’s School boys’ varsity basketball team lost to Rivers School, 70-50.
Laconia’s Trent Fountain led the Rams with 12 points and didn’t leave the floor as the Tilton School boys’ JV B basketball team beat New Hampton, 32-24.
Webster’s Mayson Kimball had 17 points, 10 rebounds and three steals to lead the Tilton School varsity girls’ basketball team to a 65-40 win over Brooks.
Shannon Colbert had two goals and an assist to lead the Tilton girls’ varsity hockey team to a 4-2 win over Phillips Exeter.
The Tilton School boys’ JV basketball team beat New Hampton, 39-25.

The New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association and New Hampshire Athletic Directors Association will hold the Annual NHIAA and NHADA Scholar Athlete Awards Ceremony on Feb. 6. Division I will be presented at 9:30 a.m. and Division III will be presented at 11:30 a.m. The event will be held at the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord. Award recipients are nominated each year by their school principals based on criteria which require the high school seniors have a B+ grade point average, letter and be currently active in at least two varsity sports, participate in community service activities and serve as role models to their peers. UNH women’s soccer camps are now open for registration. The 2017 Junior Wildcat Girls Soccer Camp will be held from July 10-13. Plymouth State University Live, Lightning-Fact Auction will be on Feb. 11 from 3-6 p.m in the PSU Welcome Center.
