Lend Me A Theater, a traveling acting troupe, will bring a renown play to the Hatbox Theater for the next three weekends.
Marjorie Prime has been making waves and earning heaps of critical praise. The play, by Jordan Harrison, was nominated for the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and won the 2016 Horton Foote Prize for Outstanding New American Play.
The film adaptationย premieredย at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, winning the Sloan Feature Film Prize.
The play centers on Marjorie, an 85-year-old woman whoโs memory is fading, and a computerized depiction of a younger version of her late husband, Walter.
As Marjorie and her children recount their past, diverging accounts unfold.
The story poses questions on humansโ relationships with artificial intelligence, coping with the past and how much memory can you lose and still be yourself.
Shows will be Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. opening this week and running through Feb. 19.
