Members of the NHTI community faced off for a game of wheelchair basketball on Thursday to raise money to purchase assistive technology for students with disabilities through the Zech DeVits Memorial Equipment Fund. NHTI residence hall students pull up a fight in the first half, but failed to humble the still-undefeated Capital Wheelers team – made up of NHTI faculty, staff, administrators and players from Granite State Independent Living. The annual event remembers Zech DeVits, a beloved wheelchair-bound student and Capital Wheelers team captain, who died in 2005, just weeks before graduating.
