Dryden Hunt scored two goals to lead the Monarchs to a 5-3 victory over the South Carolina Stingrays at SNHU Arena. Cory Ward, Quentin Shore and Tim Bozon all scored in the first period to give the Monarchs a 3-0 lead after one. South Carolina scored early in the second period to cut the lead to 3-1, but Hunt netted his first goal with a minute remaining in the second period and tacked on another goal early in the third to give Manchester a 5-1 lead. The Monarchs improved to 24-11-4-4 and tied a franchise record of earning points in 14-straight home games. South Carolina is now 24-18-2-1.
Deeringโs Jenna Rheault scored her second goal of the season, but the University of New Hampshire womenโs hockey team fell to Vermont, 3-1. The Wildcats fell to 11-15-2 overall and 9-9-2 in Hockey East while the Catamounts improved to 12-10-8 and 8-6-6. UNH outshot Vermont, 38-12, but couldnโt make the most of its opportunities.
The Hillsboro-Deering girlsโ JV basketball team lost to Stevens, 38-17. Adanja Minard (five points) and Jocelin Goodwin (two points, great defense) led H-D.
The Weare Middle School girlsโ basketball team defended its Tri-County League title, defeating Raymond, 52-37. Jorja Douzanis (18 points), Brady Johnson (14 points, 11 rebounds, five assists), Brooke Patnode (nine points, nien rebounds, two steals) and Lilli Stogner (eight points, five rebounds, two steals, two blocks) played well for Weare. The team has won 27 of 28 games over the last two championship seasons.
The Bow fifth- and sixth-grade girlsโ basketball team beat Nottingham, 32-11. Makayla Trudel (10 points), Meghan Shippo (eight points) and Maya Brochu (six points) led the offense. Taylor Crowell and Elise Brady played great defense.
The Hopkinton Banks Chevrolet seventh- and eighth-grade girlsโ team defeated Hillsboro White. Abby Simpson had a near triple-double in points, rebounds and steals. Maddie Houston made big contributions in the second half and Audria Rutkowski played great defense.
The Christa McAuliffe School Blue Knights fifth- and sixth-grade boysโ team defeated CMS Hybrid, 30-28. Zack Doward scored the winning three-point shot with two seconds left. JP Nzeyimana played well and Connor McIntyre led the defense. Ben Masur and Davis Linzell led the offense for CMS Hybrid. Jacob Gurtner played excellent defense for CMS.
The Bow 2 seventh- and eighth-grade girlsโ team lost to Mount Royal. Julia Krause led all scorers with nine points and 18 rebounds. Emma Avery chipped in with four points. Alexia Williams had a strong defensive game.
The St. Paulโs School varsity boysโ basketball team fell to Dexter, 62-61, in overtime. Vincenzo Bufalino (17 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists), Fisher Gates (17 points), Colby Gates (14 points) and Concordโs Chapin Bassi (two key steals, good defense) led the Big Red.
The Tilton School varsity boysโ basketball team defeated Masterโs School of Connecticut, 92-85. Terrell Brown (27 points, 10 rebounds, five blocks), Max Zegarowski (23 points) and Marcus Zegarowski (17 points, 10 assists) led Tilton.
The Tilton varsity girlsโ basketball team defeated the Winsor School, 76-34. Websterโs Mayson Kimball (18 points, 10 rebounds, five steals), Hopkintonโs Maddie Clark (nine points, five rebounds, four assists) and Olivia Orlando (19 points, 11 rebounds, seven steals, four assists) led Tilton.

NHTI basketball clinics led by menโs head coach Paul Hogan and his team will be held at the Wellness Center gym in Concord today, Saturday and Feb. 12.
