“When it snows I make money,” said Warren Leary, 54, of Penacook with a smile after clearing a porch roof of snow in Concord on Tuesday. Leary, a skilled finish carpenter who can be found restoring Victorian homes on any other given day, prefers picking up odd outdoor jobs over traveling as a contract carpenter to supplement his income. He likes the work and says staying in the area lets him spend time with his grandchildren.
