Concord High School’s George Tarwo and Chris Munnell could not be slowed down on the mat Saturday, defending their individual titles at the Division I wrestling championships on their way to being named the Monitor’s Co-Players of the Week. Tarwo, who’s lost one match all season, defeated Pinkerton’s Sterling McLaughlin in the 182-pound final by a 9-2 decision and will be looking for his third straight Meet of Champions title on Saturday. Munnell, who claimed the 152-pound title last year, defeated Londonderry’s Colin Reardon in the 160 final. Munnell used an escape in the third round to pick up the lone point in a 1-0 decision. The pair of Tide wrestlers also helped Concord notch a runner-up finish for the second straight season with 194.5 points.
