The New Hampshire Institute of Art will host a line-up of seven visiting artists this spring.

The first event will be Monday at 5:30 p.m. at the school’s Manchester campus in French Hall. Tobias Carroll, a prolific freelance writer, reviewer and editor and co-founder of Vol. 1Brooklyn, will be the first to present.

On March 10 at 11:30 a.m., illustrator Aaron Meshon will talk about his work creating designs for children’s books, advertisements and books.

Aaron Draplin, an author and graphic designer for Nike, Burton Snowboards, Esquire, Red Wing, Ford, the Obama administration and others, will discuss his book Pretty Much Everything on March 21 at 7 p.m. Tickets are required for this presentation.

Comic artist Alec Longstreth, who won the Ignatz Award for his self-published minicomic Phase 7, will present March 30 at noon. He’s also drawn cartoons for Nickelodeon Magazine and National Geographic Kids.

Dash Shaw, another comic artist and author of the graphic novels Cosplayers, Doctors, New School and Bottomless Belly Button, will speak April 28 at noon.

The next day, printmakers and NHIA alumni Lyell Castonguay and Carand Burnett are tentatively scheduled to speak on April 29 at 10 a.m. They will host a workshop on block printing with a large-format portable press in Victory Park in Manchester.

All workshops are free and open to the public except the Draplin event. Tickets to his presentation are $25 in advance from nhia. ejoinme.org/Aaron DraplinNHIA. Discount codes are available for students, staff, alumni and members.
