New Hampshire’s roster for the 2017 Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl was announced recently, and the capital region will be represented well in the annual charity football game.

Joe Benard (quarterback) and Craig Newcombe (offensive line) will represent Bishop Brady in the contest between the top graduated senior from New Hampshire and Vermont, while Merrimack Valley’s Evan Martin (wide receiver), Winnisquam’s Isaiah Singleton (wide receiver) and Hillsboro-Deering’s Liam Flanagan (tight end) also made the cut.

New Hampshire is coming off its first loss in 16 years after the Green Mountain state earned a 50-2 victory in last year’s contest. This year’s game will be held Aug. 5. at Castleton State University with kickoff slated for 5:30 p.m.
