The Concord Capitals girls’ U10 hockey team (above) clinched the New England Bay State Girls Tournament championship over the weekend, defeating KP Walpole, 4-0, in the title game. Concord received scoring from Kacey Yorston, Elizabeth Johnson, Ali Cabot and Tess Mulkerron to claim the U8-U10 championship.
The Franklin JV boys’ basketball team defeated White Mountains, 59-58, to win the Newfound Invitational. Ben Lafrance netted 26 points (67 total in three games) and hit all three foul shots at the line with 5 seconds left to clinch the championship on his way to being named tournament MVP. Harrison Clark added 12 points.
The Bishop Brady JV boys’ basketball team lost a close game, 43-39. Brady was led by the Fraser twins with Tommy and Billy scoring 10 points each. Angelo Besho added eight points.
The Hopkinton Middle School Nordic team came out in full force at Friday’s state meet at Sandwich. Theodore Mollano led the boys’ team to a second-place finish. Nolan Sauer, Parker Wullenweber and Darren Earley all scored for the Hawks. Hayden Lynch, Hopkinton’s fifth-fastest skier, broke a tie that gave the Hawks the runner-up spot out of 18 team. Frances Trafton, Sophie Sullivan, Emma Tworek and Cate Westbrook skied hard for the Hopkinton girls’ team, which finished in sixth out of 17 teams.
The Concord Boys & Girls Club seventh- and eighth-grade girls’ team opened up the BAC Tournament with a 59-30 win over Hopkinton. Ami Rivera recorded a triple-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 steals. Kayli Daigneault scored 14 points and had five rebounds. The team also opened up the LAYBL Tourney with a 42-35 win over Belmont. Ami Rivera (22 points, seven steals, six rebounds), Isabella Rivera (six points, five rebounds) Libbey Hicks (three points, five rebounds) and Jayden Johnson (two points, five rebounds) led Concord. Concord ended the regular season with a 45-38 win over Hollis-Brookline. Rivera finished with 21 points.
The Concord Christa McAuliffe Blue Knights fifth- and sixth-grade boys’ basketball team played a doubleheader and won both games. Concord beat Abbot Downing, 30-15, and then defeated Broken Grounds, 30-18. Zach Doward scored 15 points for the Blue Knights in the win over Abbot Downing, which was led by eight points from Matt Drewes. In the win over Broken Grounds, Nick Reynolds led the defensive effort for the Blue Knights while Jacob Wright netted 13 points for Broken Ground.
The Concord Boys & Girls Club fifth-and sixth-grade boys’ basketball team won its first two games of the Bow Invitational Tournament. Concord knocked off Suncook Athletics, 69-60, in the first game and defeated Bow, 59-46, in Game 2. Moses Carr put on a show with 31 points against Bow while teammate Max Leahy added 18 points with 10 rebounds.
The Proctor Academy boys’ basketball team fell to Tilton, 88-80.
The Proctor girls’ basketball team lost to Tilton, 66-60.
The Proctor boys’ hockey team defeated Tilton, 7-3, in the Lakes Region Championship.

The St. Paul’s School girl’ hockey team capped off a 21-4-1 regular season with a 3-0 victory over Lawrence Academy. Finley and Gillis Frechette each notched one goal and two assists to pace the offense while goalie Peri Donaldson grabbed her 13th shutout of the season.
Devan Miller recorded a career-high five points for the University of New Hampshire women’s lacrosse team in a 13-9 loss to UConn on Sunday. Miller netted a pair of goals to go along with three assists as UNH drops to 0-3.
Kyra Smith made 32 saves for the University of New Hampshire women’s hockey team, but the Wildcats fellt o Boston University, 3-2, on Sunday afternoon. The victory gave BU the series win in the Hockey East bset-of-three quarterfinals. Marie-Jo Pelletier finished with two goals for New Hampshire.
Pembroke’s Maddie Bardier, a junior on the Southern New Hampshire University women’s indoor track and field team, ran on the school record-setting 4×800 relay at the NEICAAA Championships. The relay team clocked a 9:50.64.

UNH women’s lacrosse summer camp will be held June 26-28. The camp is open to girls entering grades 6-12 in the 2017-18 academic year.
